 NUESTROS PROGRAMAS

LA ESCUELA POPULAR DE MUJERES (or The Women's Popular Education Program) engages immigrant women of color in a process of collective reflection, community building, personal and social transformation, and organizing for change.

  • Taller Mujer (or Sista Space) facilitates sustainable leadership, empowerment, and organizing around issues central to the lives of immigrant women of color. The workshops are participatory and experiential and incorporate discussions, exercises, readings of different texts, and films.

  • Creating Community Literacy Project meets our community's increasing needs for English-language literacy; creates an empowering environment where we are able to explore issues affecting our families, our community, and each one of us; and also challenges ideas of "who knows English" by having women of color teach and learn English with and from each other.

PALABRA DE MUJER: WOMEN'S CIRCLES build upon and strengthen all aspects of CIF's organizing work by providing personal support in a collective space that is dedicated to our reflection and healing.

ORGANIZING FOR CHANGE & COMMUNITIES IN ACTION LEADERSHIP TRAININGS build upon and strengthen the process of individual and collective leadership that has been fostered during the Escuela Popular and are designed for CIF members who are interested in developing organizing campaigns and initiatives, becoming facilitators in the Escuela Popular, or taking on other leadership roles within CIF.

LA ESCUELA POPULAR DE MUJERES facilita para las mujeres, por medio de la educación popular, un proceso colectivo de reflexión, desarrollo comunitario, transformación personal y social y trabajo organizativo para traer cambios.

  • Taller Mujer facilita el liderazgo a largo plazo y la movilización comunitaria en torno a los asuntos de gran importancia en las vidas de las mujeres. Los talleres parten de nuestras experiencias y son participativos, incorporando discusiones, ejercicios, lecturas variadas, y películas.

  • Proyecto Creando Comunidad de Educación Básica en Inglés responde a la creciente necesidad de educación básica en inglés en nuestra comunidad; crea un espacio que da animo y apoyo y donde podemos explorar lo que afecta a nuestras familias, nuestra comunidad y a cada una de nosotras; y también desafía la noción de "quien sabe inglés" al tener mujeres inmigrantes y de color enseñando y aprendiendo inglés juntas.

PALABRA DE MUJER: CIRCULOS DE MUJERES da seguimiento y fortalece todos los aspectos del trabajo de movilización del Centro al proveer apoyo personal en un espacio colectivo dedicado a la reflexión y curación.

Los programas de FORMACION DE LIDERAZGO ORGANIZANDO PARA EL CAMBIO y COMUNIDADES EN ACCION continúan y fortalecen el proceso de liderazgo individual y colectivo que ha sido desarrollado en la Escuela Popular y están diseñados para las miembras del Centro que se han interesado en desarrollar campañas y proyectos, en convertirse en facilitadoras de la Escuela Popular, o en tomar roles de liderazgo dentro del Centro.
